Femmes d’Espérance had a chat with Clemence Niyomugabo -the leader and founder of Clemence’s Touch. Enjoy the reading, we hope that it will inspire you too.
Hi Clemence, Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your company?
Hello, my name is Clemence Niyomugabo. I currently am a Registered Nurse and I have been since 2014. As of now, I am a student studying to be a Nurse Practitioner and I will be finished at the end of May 2020. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for decorating. Whether it be my home on a daily basis or hosting a simple event, I was always glad to involve decor into my life. I recently decided that it was time for me to share the gift that I have been given with everyone else as well as finally take the step that I’ve been longing to take by starting a business. I realized it was time for me to be honest with myself and believe that I can place both of my passions into action.
How do you manage your time as a mum, a nurse and a passionate event decorator?
While it can be difficult, it’s the love that I have for everything that I do that allows me to balance them all. I always make sure to have time for my family, especially my daughter, who is a charismatic and loving two-year-old. My love for her comes first above my love for everything else in life. She is the reason why I do what I love as a nurse and a an event decorator. I want to inspire her to pursue her educator as well as loving what she does. Being a Registered Nurse undoubtedly takes up a lot of time in my life, but it’s the patients and the results of being a Registered Nurse that motivates me to manage it into my life. As my long time passion, being an event decorator makes it the easiest thing to balance in my life. For everything in my life, from a wife and a mother, to a nurse, and now officially an event decorator, it’s my love for all I do that allows me to manage them all.
So what can you tell other women who are hesitant to become entrepreneurs?
Don’t hesitate: – You’ve been given your gift for a reason and there is no one who has been blessed with said gift except for you- Always remember the whys. Why do you want it? Why do you do it? Why is it important to you?
